general synoptic situation:

A low 986 moves from Lake Ladoga towards northeast. A ridge of 

high pressure 1025 from the Azores shifts from the Gulf of Biscay

across the Pyrenees to the western Mediterranean Sea while 

weakening. A high 1007 over southern Norway moves to central 

Norway and dissipates. A low 988 north of Scotland travels via 

the German Bight towards northern Germany and loses its identity 

there. By early Tuesday, a new low 992 will develop over Zealand,

subsequently move via the southern portion of the Baltic Sea and 

Lithuania towards Latvia.
