general synoptic situation



An East-European high-pressure ridge keeps undisturbed 

conditions east of Peloponnes, Crete and Northeast-Libya. Else 

low-pressure conditions dominate:

A low 1005 around Elba is moving east to central Balkan 

Peninsula, combined with strong Mistral. Another low 998 

around Gulf of Sirte is migrating to Greece. An Atlantic 

high-pressure ridge across Bay of Biscay, Balearic Islands 

and North-Algeria is weakening. A flat low 1015 is placed 

over South-Spain.

light and variable winds, shifting east to northeast 

about 4. 

balearic islands :

western part east about 5, abating, eastern part north 5 

to 6, decreasing slowly about 4, shower- and thundery 

gusts, sea eastern part 4 meter. 

west corsica/sardinia :

northern part variable directions 3 to 6 with shower 

squalls, otherwise northwest to west 5 to 6, locally 7, 

sea up to 4 meter. 

golfe du lion :

north to northwest about 7, severe gale force gusts, at 

times decreasing a little, sea up to 4 meter. 

ligurian sea :
