general synoptic situation:

A high 1040 over Finland moves to Belarus. A wedge 1030 North 

Cape moves to the southern part of the Barents Sea, while 

intensifying into a high. Another wedge, directed toward the 

Balkans, remains unchanged. A deep storm 960 south of Iceland 

moves into the Strait of Denmark and weakens. Its cold front 

extends across the North Sea southwards and moves to the western 

Baltic Sea. A high 1027 Azores moves to northern France and 

intensifies.
