general synoptic situation:

A high 1039 area St. Petersburg moves to Ukraine. A deep low 972 

just west of Iceland moves to the Irminger Sea while weakening. 

The associated cold front is located over the eastern part of the

North Sea and moves to the southern Baltic Sea. A secondary low 

1008 will reach Scotland from the southwest on Friday evening. A 

high 1028 over the Bay of Biscay moves to northern Germany while 

intensifying.
