general synoptic situation:

A low with multiple centers 992 southern portion of the Norwegian

Sea and 1002 Lapland moves to east. Several troughs pass across 

the North Sea and Baltic Sea eastward. The Azores high 1025 and a

ridge pointing to Slovakia move to east. On early Thursday, a new

low moves to southwest of Iceland. Its frontal system arrives 

over the North Sea and tends to develop a secondary low over 

Forties.
