general synoptic situation:

A low 1001 central Sweden moves to the Gulf of Bothnia and 

deepens. A low 998 southern part of the Norwegian Sea 

intensifies. A high 1024 Bay of Biscay moves to the Alps. A ridge

extending to the Black Sea hardly changes. A low 985 southwest of

Iceland moves to the Faroe Islands and temporary deepens. The 

associated frontal system shifts from the North Sea to the Baltic

Sea.
