general synoptic situation:

The Azores High 1031 is moving towards southern France whilst 

weakening. A ridge extends across Germany to the Baltic States 

and is moving slightly southwards. Another ridge extends towards 

the North Sea and is moving south-eastwards whilst weakening. A 

low 1008 Skagerrak is moving towards Gotland, intensifying. A low

1004 north of Ireland is deepening as it moves towards the 

Norwegian Sea. During the night to Saturday, a secondary low 996 

will form in the Oslo area. By Saturday morning, a new low 1002 

will be located west of Ireland.
