general synoptic situation:

A low 999 over the Gulf of Bothnia initially hardly changes 

unchanged before moving towards central Finland on Friday evening

while deepening. A trough moves eastwards from southern Norway 

across the Baltic Sea on Thursday, followed by another trough on 

Friday. A high 1026 over central France moves towards the Alps 

while weakening. A ridge extending towards the Black Sea hardly 

changes. A deep low 980 southwest of Iceland moves towards the 

Shetland Islands while weakening.
