general synoptic situation:

A high of 1031 over southern Russia remains largely unchanged. An

extensive deep depression of 965 at around 50 north 35 west is 

moving slightly northeastwards, weakening slightly. Troughs 

extend to the North Sea and also reach the Baltic Sea. A 

secondary low of 984 will move from the British Isles to the 

northern part of the North Sea from Sunday evening.
