general synoptic situation:

A low 1002 over the southwestern North Sea moves to northern 

Germany while weakening, and on Thursday will move eastwards 

across the Baltic Sea as a trough. A low 998 over the southern 

Baltic Sea moves northeastwards while filling. A ridge of the 

Azores High 1025 extends to Ireland and will move across the 

North Sea towards Denmark and northern Germany by Thursday 

evening.
