general synoptic situation:

Highs 1025 over the Balkans and Romania are gradually weakening. 

A low 974 over the Kola Peninsula is moving towards the Barents 

Sea, while deepening. Another low 984 to the far west of the Bay 

of Biscay is slowly weakening while moving slowly eastwards. Both

lows are connected by a trough of low pressure that runs across 

the North Sea and is slowly moving southwards. A high of 1028 

over the Irminger Sea is extending a ridge towards the Baltic 

Sea.
