general synoptic situation:

A high 1031 northwestern Russia extends with a ridge of high 

pressure 1023 across the Balitc States to a high 1028 Czech 

Republic. The high-pressure area slowly moves to east. A gale 952

northeast of Iceland moves to the northeastern Norwegian Sea 

while weakening. Its wavy cold front swings across the North Sea.

A secondary low 1015 Irish Sea moves towards southern Sweden 

while deepening. A high 1026 central North Atlantic reaches the 

sea area west of Ireland by Friday and intensifies.
