general synoptic situation:

A ridge of high pressure extends from a high 1028 Czech Republic 

to a high 1031 northwestern Russia and moves slowly eastward. A 

gale 960 northern Norwegian Sea moves toward the Barents Sea 

while weakening. A trough southern Norway swings toward Karelia 

while weakening. A secondary low 1016 Irish Sea moves across the 

North Sea toward the southern Baltic Sea while deepening. 

Subsequently, a high 1016 central North Atlantic will move toward

Ireland while intensifying. A ridge will build towards the Gulf 

of Bothnia.
