general synoptic situation:

A low 987 over northern Sweden moves to the Barents Sea. A trough

extending to eastern Poland moves eastwards. A ridge of the 

Azores High 1032, extending to the Alps, hardly changes. A deep 

low 976 south of Iceland moves towards Haltenbank while 

weakening. An associated trough will swing across the North Sea 

on Thursday and across the Baltic Sea on Friday.
