general synoptic situation:

A low-pressure trough extending from Lapland 999 across 

the southern Baltic Sea 1007 to the Czech Republic 1010 

slowly weakens, the low over the southern Baltic Sea moves 

towards the Kattegat. A low 1002 over the Norwegian Sea 

moves to the Lofoten Islands, weakening. A low 998 Celtic 

Sea moves southwestwards. A high 1030 Irmiger See moves 

towards Iceland with a ridge towards the Netherlands, the 

ridge weakens somewhat and swings westwards.
