general synoptic situation:

A low 1006 over the Northern Baltic Sea and the Gulf of 

Finland weakens slightly and moves a little bit east. 

Another low 1003 over Jutland moves to the German Bight 

where it will weaken. A low 1008 over the northern North 

Sea weakens and moves to the waters north of the Shetland 

Islands. The ridge of a high over the Greenland Sea 

extending to England weakens. Within another ridge 

extending to northwestern Russia a new high will build 

over northern Scandinavia tonight. A low 998 over West 

France moves to Benelux, where it will dissipate on 

Monday.
