general synoptic situation:

A high 1026 over France is moving towards the Czech Republic. A 

ridge extending towards the Baltic States is weakening slightly. 

Another ridge is swinging from the British Isles towards Norway, 

intensifying. A low 1014 over Haltenbank is moving towards the 

Gulf of Bothnia. A low 1004 northwest of Ireland is moving 

northeastwards while weakening. Its trough towards the German 

Bight is weakening. A strong low 985 far west of Ireland is 

weakening.
