general synoptic situation:

A high 1030 centred over Switzerland is moving towards the Czech 

Republic. A ridge extending towards the Gulf of Finland is 

weakening slightly. Another ridge will intensify and build from 

the British Isles towards Norway. A low 1007 just west of the 

Faroe Islands is moving northeastwards while weakening. A trough 

is shifting northeastwards from the western part of the Baltic 

Sea. An extensive low 986 far west of Ireland is weakening.
