general synoptic situation:

A low 1007 is located between the Faroe Islands and Iceland, 

deepens and moves to the Kola Peninsula. The cold front swings 

from the North Sea to the Baltic states. An extensive high 1030 

is located over the Czech Republic and weakens slightly. West of 

the English Channel another high 1027 strengthens and moves to 

the southwestern part of the North Sea building the new center of

the extensive high.
