general synoptic situation:

A low 984 over southern Finland is moving towards 

northwestern Russia, weakening slightly. A trough over the 

northern part of the North Sea is shifting southeastwards, 

weakening. A deepening low 991 southeast of Cape Farvel is 

moving to the sea area south of Iceland. On Wednesday, the 

ridge of a high centred over the Alps will shift from the 

North Sea to the Baltic Sea. At the same time, a thundery 

low 1008 will move from northern France to the 

Netherlands, while a ridge of the Azores high will build 

towards the Pyrenees.
