general synoptic situation:

A high 1025 over France is moving to the Balkans. At the same 

time, an associated ridge is moving from the British Isles 

towards the Baltic region. A low 980 over the Norwegian Sea is 

moving slightly northwards whilst weakening. A secondary low 993 

over central Sweden is moving towards western Russia whilst 

weakening. A low 994 over Ireland is deepening into a deep low 

and moving via Viking towards Scandinavia. On Sunday, a high 1026

will form over the Bay of Biscay, with a ridge extending towards 

the British Isles.
