general synoptic situation:

A ridge of a high 1032 over Kazakhstan extends to the Baltic 

States and weakens. A deep low 977 North Cape moves towards the 

Barents Sea. A low 984 central North Sea moves towards Finland, 

weakening. A ridge of the Azores high extends eastwards and forms

an independent high 1023 over the Alps. A deep low 953 southeast 

of Cape Farvel moves to the sea area south of Iceland. The 

associated frontal system will reach the North Sea on Monday.
