general synoptic situation:

A high 1021 over western Russia moves towards Kazakhstan 

while intensifying. A ridge extends to the Kattegat and 

weakens. A low 1007 over central Sweden moves towards the 

White Sea and deepens somewhat. An extensive deep low 969 

around 350 nautical miles west of Ireland moves slightly 

eastwards and weakens somewhat. The corresponding occluded 

front influences the North Sea and later also the Baltic 

Sea.
