general synoptic situation:	

A gale 975 to the east of Svalbard moves southeastwards. An 

associated trough will extend from the White Sea to Russia. An 

extensive high 1038 Shetland-Islands somewhat weakens. From this,

a broad ridge extends across Poland towards southeastern Europe 

and hardly changes. A low 1013 Iberian Peninsula weakens.
