general synoptic situation:	

A high 1000 southern Norway to Lapland intensifies slightly and 

extends to northwestern Russia. A low 976 central Germany weakens

as it moves to eastern Germany until the evening and further to 

the Baltic States thereafter. A secondary low 983 Netherlands 

moves southeastwards and fills up. Another low 982 Ireland moves 

to northern France and weakens.
