general synoptic situation:

An extensive high 1031 over the British Isles remains stationary.

A broad ridge towards the Balkans swings slightly northeastwards 

until Tuesday evening. Another ridge towards Lapland swings 

southeast towards Sweden while weakening. An extensive low 996 

over western Russia with a trough towards eastern Ukraine is 

moving slightly northwestwards while weakening. On Tuesday 

evening it starts to connect with a low 980 north of Spitsbergen.
