complex low 986 close south of Iceland travels little towards 

west while weakening. Its troughs are affecting the English 

Channel and the North Sea. A ridge of the Azores high 1028 

extends to the Alps. A low 986 around 550 nautical miles west of 

Ireland moves to the marine area close northwest of Ireland while

deepening into a gale.
