general synoptic situation:	

A high 1029 Shetland Islands is weakening slightly. A broad ridge

extending towards southeastern Europe will be intensifying 

somewhat, another ridge expands towards Finnland. A low 999 

Irminger Sea moves towards the northern Norwegian Sea while 

weakening slightly. Several small-scale lows 1014 situated over 

France and the Iberian Peninsula are gradually weakening. A low 

1013 west of the Bay of Biscay is slowly weakening.
