general synoptic situation:

A high 1030 over Iceland extends with a ridge to the middle of 

the North Sea and weakens. An intense low 980 over the southern 

Barents Sea moves to Siberia. Another low 1006 over South Sweden 

moves to the eastern German Bight while slightly deepening for a 

while. In between the aforementioned low pressure areas a trough 

extends across the Baltic States and Karelia. On early Sunday a 

new low 1010 will build over the northern North Sea. A weakening 

gale force low 994 over the Bay of Biscay will dissipate about 

Sunday morning. Today a new low 1000 will build over western 

France.
