general synoptic situation:	

A low 997 north of Gotland moves towards the Gulf of Finland, 

where it will dissipate by Friday morning. Another low over 

England moves toward the Oslo Fjord. A high 1028 south of the 

Irminger Sea remains almost stationary. A broad ridge extending 

the northern part of the Norwegian Sea slightly shifts 

southwards.
