general synoptic situation:	

A high 1030 centred over Switzerland is moving towards the Czech 

Republic. A ridge extending towards the Gulf of Finland is 

weakening slightly. Another ridge will intensify and build from 

the British Isles towards Norway. A low 1014 Haltenbank is moving

via the northern part of the Baltic Sea towards Northwestrussia. 

An extensive low 988 far west of Ireland is weakening.
