general synoptic situation:	

An extensive high 1040 western Russia moves slowly eastward. A 

ridge southern Norway will begin to retreat eastward from 

Thursday morning. The trough of a low 995 just west of Dogger 

swings northward across the German Bight and Fisher on Wednesday.

A low 997 English Channel moves northeastward while deepening and

will reach the coast of southern Norway on Thursday evening. Its 

trough will swing from northern France to southern Sweden. The 

ridge of the Azores High 1028 will build northeastward towards 

Poland by Thursday evening.
