gaining strength. A ridge extends to northwestern Russia and 

swings towards the Black Sea. A high 1025 north of the Azores 

becomes the ridge of the high over Scandinavia. A low 1004 off 

the west coast of Brittany moves southwestwards, weakening. A 

complex low 1004 over the western Mediterranean hardly changes.
