general synoptic situation:

An extensive high over Kazakhstan extends a ridge to the Alps 

which will be temporarily weakening somewhat. A deep low 975 near

North Cape is moving towards the Barents Sea while weakening. A 

secondary low 996 over the Southwestern North Sea is moving 

towards the Skagerrak, temporarily deepening. On Sunday, a ridge 

of the Azores high 1030 will build to France. The frontal system 

of an extensive deep low 967 southwest of Iceland will reach 

Ireland on Sunday afternoon.
