general synoptic situation



valid until Wednesday:

<br> Strong to gale-force easterly winds are blowing in 

the eastern Mediterranean and will gradually ease 

tomorrow. Furthermore, a frontal trough is approaching 

from the west, causing gale-force winds or storm in the 

area between the Alboran Sea and the Gulf of Lions. This 

wind field will expand eastwards and decreasing slightly. 

On Wednesday, a new low will form over the Libyan Sea and 

move northwards, bringing gale-force winds or storm, 

particularly to the Ionian and Adriatic Seas. Gale-force 

winds are also expected at the same time in the Alboran 

Sea and off the Algerian coast. In the aforementioned wind 

fields, waves of 4 to 6 m will build up. Today, there will 

be severe thunderstorms in the eastern Mediterranean. 

Thunderstorms cannot be ruled out on Tuesday and 

Wednesday, especially in the western and central 

Mediterranean. Please pay attention to local warnings.
