general synoptic situation

<br> In the Alboran Sea, strong to near-gale westerly 

winds are expected today and on Thursday evening. Mistral 

will develop during the day, bringing north-westerly winds 

of up to 8 Bft and gusts of up to 11 Bft. Wave heights 

will temporarily reach 4 m. The mistral will decrease on 

Wednesday before developing again on Thursday evening. In 

the Adriatic Sea and the Strait of Otranto, strong to 

near-gale south-westerly to southerly winds are expected 

on Wednesday. Today and over the coming days, isolated 

severe thunderstorms with heavy rain and hail cannot be 

ruled out in the north-western Mediterranean and the 

Adriatic Sea. Please pay attention to local warnings.
