general synoptic situation



valid until Friday:

<br> Locally, near-gale force conditions over parts of 

the western Mediterranean throughout the entire forecast 

period. On Thursday, significant wave heights of around 4 

m are possible in the Gulf of Lions. On Friday, 

significant wave heights of 4 to 5 m are expected in the 

Alboran and Palos sea areas. Thunderstorms are locally 

possible across the entire western Mediterranean 

throughout the forecast period. On Thursday, thunderstorms 

are not ruled out over the Aegean Sea. From Friday 

onwards, isolated thunderstorms are also possible over the 

eastern Mediterranean in the sea area around Cyprus.
