general synoptic situation

<br> On Wednesday and Thursday over the northwestern 

Mediterranean Sea near gale force winds (Bft 7) from 

easterly directions, locally gale force winds (Bft 8) with 

gusts 11 Bft, very rough sea with significant wave heights 

up to 5 m. Over the Aegean Sea locally near gale force 

winds from northerly directions, on Thursday expanding to 

the adjacent waters. On Wednesday over the eastern 

Mediterranean Sea including the Aegean Sea, and over the 

western Mediterranean Sea including the Tyrrhenian Sea 

thunderstorms, partly severe thunderstorms with heavy rain 

and storm force squalls; over the remaining areas isolated 

thunderstorms possible. On Thursday over the western and 

central Mediterranean Sea thunderstorms, partly severe 

thunderstorms with heavy rain and storm force squalls; 

over the easternmost part of the Mediterranean Sea 

thunderstorms; over the remaining areas isolated 

thunderstorms possible. On Friday over the Aegean Sea and 

the adjacent waters locally near gale force winds (Bft 7) 

from northerly directions. Initially over the Ligurian Sea 

and the Tyrrhenian Sea locally near gale force winds from 

various directions. From the western to the eastern 

Mediterranean Sea locally thunderstorms, partly severe 

thunderstorms.
