general synoptic situation

<br> Today and over the next few days, strong to 

near-gale-force winds, predominantly from the north, are 

expected in the southern Adriatic, the Ionian Sea and the 

Aegean Sea. Thereby, particularly in the Aegean Sea, gusts 

of up to 9 Bft may occur. In the eastern Mediterranean, 

severe thunderstorms are possible in some areas, which may 

be accompanied by the aforementioned gusts, as well as 

heavy rain and hail. From Saturday evening, the risk of 

thunderstorms will also increase in the western 

Mediterranean, particularly near the coast. Please pay 

attention to local warnings.
