general synoptic situation



valid until Friday:

<br> A thundery low over the eastern Ionian Sea moves to 

Cyprus gradually. Hail, heavy precipitation and 

severe-gale force wind gusts are expected in the vicinity 

of the thunderstorms. Furthermore, strong Etesian winds 

may establish at changing portions of the Aegean Sea as 

the low moves to Cyprus. After a cold frontal passage over 

southern portions of Central Europe Mistral winds kick off 

today and dominate weather until Friday. Eslewhere at the 

western Mediterranean thunderstorms may develop especially 

as of Thursday. Thunderstorm activity extends onto central 

Med portions by Friday. Expect hail, heavy precipitation 

and severe-gale force wind gusts in the vicinity of the 

storms.
