<br> Strong to gale-force easterly winds are expected 

north of Cyprus today. Elsewhere, low-pressure centres 

between Sardinia and the Balearic Islands are causing 

strong to gale-force winds in some areas of the western 

and central Mediterranean. On Thursday, winds of up to 9 

Bft with gusts of up to 11 Bft are expected in the 

Ligurian Sea and the Gulf of Lions. These winds will cause 

wave heights of 4 to 6 m. Today and in the coming days, 

showers and some severe thunderstorms are expected 

throughout the Mediterranean region. Please pay attention 

to local warnings.
