general synoptic situation



valid until Saturday:

<br> On the south-western flank of a low-pressure system 

over Turkey, near-gale-force winds are likely at times, 

particularly in the sea area between Turkey and Crete. The 

wind will decrease tomorrow. On Friday, a low will move 

south-eastwards across the Adriatic Sea, bringing 

near-gale-force winds from changing directions locally. 

There is a possibility of Bora. On Saturday, a strong or 

near-gale-force northerly airflow will develop in the 

Ionian Sea. Later on, near-gale-force north-easterly winds 

are also expected in parts of the northern Aegean. Severe 

thunderstorms with heavy rain, hail and gale-force gusts 

are possible on Thursday and Friday, particularly in the 

central Mediterranean. On Saturday, the focus of the 

thunderstorms will shift towards Greece, Crete and the 

Aegean. Please pay attention to local warnings
