general synoptic situation



valid until Sunday:

<br> Strong to near-gale southerly winds are expected in 

the Aegean Sea today, as well as strong to near-gale 

westerly winds in the Libyan Sea. Gusts of up to 9 Bft are 

possible. The wind will decrease over the course of 

Saturday. Towards Sunday a strong to near-gale westerly 

airflow will develop in the Alboran Sea. Near-gale 

northerly winds are also expected from Sunday midday 

onwards in the eastern part of the Gulf of Lions and 

surrounding areas. Severe thunderstorms are expected today 

and in the coming days, especially in the central and 

eastern Mediterranean.
