general synoptic situation



valid until Sunday:

<br> Today, Friday, especially over the Ligurian Sea, at 

times gale-force winds (7 to 8 Bft) from west to southwest 

with (heavy) storm gusts. Very rough seas of about 4 m are 

possible locally. From Saturday night, these conditions 

will shift southwards to the sea area west of Corsica and 

the northern part of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Over the course 

of Saturday, the wind and the sea will slowly decrease 

here. In addition, frequent thunderstorms with gale-force 

gusts may occur today and over the next few days, 

especially in the central Mediterranean and at first also 

in the western Mediterranean. Isolated severe 

thunderstorms in association with (heavy) storm gusts 

cannot be ruled out.
