general synoptic situation



An extensive high 1031 extends from Spain to Turkey 

across the entire Mediterranean. It weakens in particular 

around Italy. A frontal band stretches across the Alps and 

the Bay of Biscay and connects a gale over northern Europe 

with a low 993 west of the Azores. The eastern part swings 

south-eastwards and forms a low 1013 over northern Italy 

on Friday, entering the Adriatic later.
