general synoptic situation

<br> The Mistral is bringing partly near-gale force 

north-westerly winds to the Gulf of Lions and the 

neighbouring seas. Locally, gusts of up to 9 Bft may 

occur. The Mistral will weaken slightly over the next few 

days. Initially, partly near-gale-force winds and gusts of 

up to 9 Bft are also expected over the northern Adriatic. 

The wind will decrease as the day progresses. Partly 

severe thunderstorms with heavy rain, hail and gale-force 

gusts are expected in the western and central 

Mediterranean today and over the next few days. Please pay 

attention to local warnings.
